Valley Visions ~ Thank YOU!

Valley Visions rocks again!

On behalf of LEAP, I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported Valley Visions this year. It was an amazing party, with spectacular decorations, delicious food, fun music and a wonderful, warm atmosphere. It never ceases to amaze me what a community can achieve when it pulls together. It will take a few weeks for our final figures to come in - watch this space to find out how we did financially.

Valley Visions could not have happened without the work of well over 100 volunteers (parents, grandparents, board members, staff members and students) who contributed in so many different ways: cutting tablecloths, baking desserts, donating auction items, shifting hay bales, stacking chairs, serving drinks, chopping vegetables, cleaning out barbecues, arranging flowers, lighting heaters, stringing up twinkle lights, taking down twinkle lights, making a PR video, serving food, busing tables, putting up signs, putting up posters, barbecuing pounds of meat, writing articles, mixing salad, shopping at Costco, polishing mirrors, wrapping cutlery, putting up spotlights, setting up the silent auction, hauling band equipment, dumping garbage in the truck, cooking beans, hanging pinatas... the list goes on and on.

My personal thanks go out to the angelic late-night clean up crew and the awesome clean-up team on Sunday morning who took on all kinds of jobs (disgusting and otherwise) with a great attitude. We finished in record time.

I particularly want to honor the LEAP board members and friends who took on Valley Visions coordinating roles. These parents (and one awesome grandparent) gave so much of their time, energy and special skills to put on an event which raised funds to benefit every child in our district. Many of these volunteers worked a 20+ hour weekend on top of months of preparatory work. They will continue to work until every auction item is sold, every dollar is in and counted and every donor thanked. If you see these superheroes around, please pat them on the back and say thank you:
